Rising water levels cause concern

Highway 537 is closed at Jumbo Creek due to flooding. This is much in part due to the ongoing rising watershed due to milder temperatures. At last report, no detour is available, and it’s unknown how long the road closure will last. For more information residents can call 511.
Meanwhile an anticipated 20 to 30mm of rain over the next 24 hours in the North Bay area. This has prompted the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority to issue caution, that this will cause increased runoff to watercourses and water bodies, with higher than normal water levels throughout the region. Flooding is not anticipated.
