Facility asks for city help

The Northern Water Sports Centre is asking for city help in regard to paying their tax bill. The city contributed more than $500,000 towards construction costs, and agreed to pay 35 per cent of annual operating costs. At report headed to the city’s finance committee this coming week is looking for a grant to cover its tax bill from last year. The centre still owes $38,833 of it’s $65,000 tax bill.
