Call 9.1.1. during an assault

Over the weekend, Timmins Police officers responded to over 200 calls for service. While there were 13 calls regarding noise complaints, and a number of calls to deal with unwanted persons, five were assault calls. Kate Catin is with Timmins Police and says regardless of what kind of assault it is, 911 should be called.

Out of 11 disturbances, nine were of a domestic nature. All five assault calls resulted in charges being laid by police.

Meanwhile North Bay Police have charged two with assault in unrelated incidents. Both incidents happened over the weekend. The first occurred with a woman swung a baseball bat at a local man resulting in a narrow miss.  In a second call a North Bay man was charged after allegedly driving his vehicle into the victims following a dispute. Marie Luglie is with City Police and says apart from calling police…

Both accused have been arrested and have court dates for May.
