Local Woman Recognized

A Sudbury woman has received national recognition .Tammy Durand Pomroy who founded a charity school in Cambodia has been awarded the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers by the office of Governor General David Johnston. During a gala last month, more than $27,000 was raised for the initiative that goes under the name, ABCs and Rice. As part of the schooling ABCs grows its own produce and raises fish to help feed their students’ families. For more, residents can go to http://www.abcrice.org/
