The chimney is down

A familiar sight at the edge of Downtown Sudbury has been taken down. The 133-foot red brick chimney, built in 1929 was knocked to the ground yesterday. Originally part of the central heating plant for the former St. Joseph’s Hospital, the city is being made into a Red Oak Villa retirement home extension unit.
