Health Unit issue a warning regarding fungus

The Sudbury and District Health Unit has issued a warning regarding exposure to a fungus-caused infection. Blastomycosis is a rare infection caused by breathing in the fungus that can comes from disturbing damp soil or rotting wood. While the fungus is in moist acidic soil in parts of Northern Ontario, they say any persistent coughing, muscle aches, joint pain, or low-grade fever should be looked into.
