New Fire in Timmins Region, currently under control

Out of five new fires discovered this week in Northern Ontario, one is the Timmins area. A blaze known as Timmins 3 is currently burning at ½ a hector and is listed as under control. Meanwhile, out of province, 431 fire personnel continue to support B.C. wild fire efforts.


Police seek driver in pedestrian collision

North Bay Police are seeking the driver of involved in a pedestrian collision. Erin Pemberton with the North Bay Police say that the complainant was walking across the intersection of Murray and Copeland streets….

The driver is described as a male in his late 20s to early 30s.


Missing Teen in Sudbury – Seth Clark, 16 (UPDATE: Located)


The Greater Sudbury Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating another missing teen.  16-year-old Seth Clark was last seen on Monday, at around 10 p.m. in the Minnow Lake area.He is described as Caucasian approximately 5-9 tall, weighing 160 lbs. with straight, medium length brown hair, and brown eyes.
 
 


Sheldon Forgette considers Mayoral Race

North Bay deputy mayor Sheldon Forgette, says he could very well make a run for the Mayoral office in 2018. Forgette said on social media yesterday that many citizens have asked him about his plans for next year, and if he’s planning on running for mayor. Forgette says that he’s going to start an exploratory committee to discuss the idea.


New Fire in Timmins Region, currently under control

A worker in Sudbury is recovering after being injured yesterday at an Interpaving Ltd. It happened yesterday morning when, according to he Ministry of Labour the injured worker was caught between a building and paving equipment. He sustained injuries to his foot while operating an Asphalt Spreader. The Ministry of Labour says the injury to the veteran worker, has been deemed Non-Critical.


Missing Teen in Timmins- Janet Etherington, 16 (UPDATE: Located)


A plea has out to the public, in search for a missing teen. 16-year-old Janet Etherington from Cochrane was in Timmins on Monday, when she reportedly fled from the individual she was with.  There is concern for her safety. She is described as being a 16-year-old Aboriginal female, 5’7” tall, approximately 130 lbs. with a medium build. She has dark hair, often worn in a ponytail and currently has a white cast on her lower arm. She was last seen wearing a red and black button-up shirt with a black t-shirt underneath, black pants, and rubber shoes.
 


Robbery Remains under investigation

A brazen Timmins Robbery Remains under investigation.  Constable Marc Depatie says it all began when a lone male person entered Tiffany’s Variety at the corner of Wende and Wilcox, brandished a weapon and demanded cash…

Lawn Mower driver arrested

A 35-year-old man has been taken into custody by the OPP out of Callander after he was seen driving a lawn tractor on a road in Callander near midnight. The man, pulling a wagon behind him… was recognized as both a suspended driver and wanted by the Greater Sudbury Police Service. He will be in a North Bay court next month.
