Tourist recovering from dog attack

A Toronto man has been bitten by a Sudbury Dog, after the dog was taken off leash. During a visit to the Nickle city with his family, the man says he was riding the trail behind Laurentian University when two dogs came running at him, biting one of his heels. The owner then retrieved the dogs and fled. The man was treated for injuries.


North Bay Council expands vehicle-location system

North Bay City Council has decided to expand its fleet tracking system, city wide. Council approved the award of a contract worth nearly $100,000 to for an automatic vehicle-location system to include 101 more vehicles. The system will collect real-time information on things like vehicle locations, routes, speeds, and diagnostic alerts.


Two charged in Mattawa drug bust

Two Mattawa residents are facing drug possession and trafficking charges after police executed a search warrant in Papineau-Cameron Township Sunday. A 44-year-old male, and a 37-year-old female are facing charges of possession, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Timmins city council says that vacant land on Cameron Street North is now a surplus in the city. Moreover, they have indicated that they have a buyer for $1,000. The public can comment on the sale until next week on Friday. Should the sale go through, the buyer has six months to finalize the land transfer.
