It turns out, those who speak French might soon be a rare find in the North. The latest numbers from the census say that English, is becoming are more dominant in northern Ontario. Since 2011, the number of people who speak French has dropped in Sudbury by just over 1,900 while bilingual numbers are also down. The number of uni-lingual Francophones has also declined sharply in Timmins… the census say by about half in the last decade, from 1,525 to 800.
