Road closures/construction in the North

In Sudbury – 40 km/h is the top of how fast drivers should be going along construction zones on The Kingsway starting today. Work begins today and continue until the work is completed, sometime around November 17th.
In North Bay – O’Brien St will be closed, between, Ski Club Rd and Airport Rd today for roughly 11 hours, between the hours of 9:00am – 8:00pm. Fines are doubled in all construction zones Province wide, and drivers need to take care.


37-year-old Timmins Woman pleads to lesser charge

A 37-year-old Timmins woman has pleaded guilty to stabbing a 43-year-old man; an attack that put him in hospital with life-threatening injuries. However, she has pleaded guilty this week the lesser and included offense of aggravated assault. The male is expected to recover.


Bridge numbers back up

A 46-month fall in overall traffic crossing the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie is over. Full-fare passenger cars climbed 1.3 per cent to just over 59,700 in September, Sault Ste. Marie Bridge Authority says. That brings the total to 1,066,437 since January.


Missing – Jeffery Salt, 50

Greater Sudbury Police hoping someone has seen 50-year old Jeffrey Salt – last seen on October 10th, in the area of Kathleen Street and Frood Road. Salt is described as Caucasian, six feet tall, weighing about 180 pounds, brown eyes, straight, long, black, shoulder-length hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a blue button-up shirt, black leather jacket, blue jeans, a black toque and he had a black and grey cane with him.


Barrie male charged in East Ferris

North Bay OPP have caught one man trying to dig his way out of some poor decision making. The single motor vehicle collision on Edmond Road in East Ferris Township. Constable Shona Camairand say that when officers arrived on scene…

The 19-year-old from Barrie is facing a number of charges.


Sault Ste. Marie teen charged in robbery

Sault Ste. Marie Police say they’ve arrested a 19-year-old on robbery charges. It is alleged that on September 24th, 2017 the accused attended a store in the 600 block of Wellington Street West with another male while wearing masks. The accused had a knife in his possession and demanded cash and other items from the clerk.
