Missing:  Goddard-Lashebrook, 12 (Update – LOCATED)

Greater Sudbury Police are trying to find a missing 12-year-old girl this morning. She is Katrina Goddard-Lashebrook. She was last seen yesterday at around 3:15 p.m. in the New Sudbury area. She is described as being 5-foot-1, about 110 pounds and with long straight brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, grey jogging pants, and white Adidas running shoes.


New arena budget approved

The budget is in place. North Bay City Council gave the green light for plans for a new arena in its 10-year capital plan just before the weekend. City Councillor and chair of community services says that Mark King now there just needs to be a decision on where exactly the arena will be built.


Building value climbing

The value of building construction in Timmins is on the rise. Moreover, it’s a turnaround from the previous two years, when reports indicate the value of construction work was on the decline. $49.2-million being recorded in 2017, versus $27.1 million in 2016. This was all given in an address, by Mayor Steve Black.


BBQ fire put out with garden hose

A BBQ fire has been put out, thanks to a quick-thinking Sault Ste. Mare Resident, and his garden hose. City Fire crews were called to a home in the 100 block of Chartwell Drive. While the wooden cabinet housing the BBQ was damaged, no permanent damage was done to the house.


Grade 1’s now on the bus, 1k to go…

You may need to slide over, if you’re on the school bus today. The Sudbury Student Services Consortium says a few more riders will be on their buses in the form of grade 1 students, who live within one kilometre from their school. Up until this year, grade one students who live within a kilometre of their school were required to walk. This is a pilot project for the bus company.


Fedeli in Queen’s Park on Strike

Reading break or no reading breaking…. Ontario College Faculty remain on strike today. And Nippising MPP Vic Fedeli says he will be taking the issue to Queens Park. This is after picketers set up shop outside the MPP’s office. They say that the issue has grown to the point where they are asking the province to play a role in getting negotiations moving.
