Treated at the scene of a collision

An accident at busy intersection caused delays for many on the way home from work yesterday. Among them, a Sudbury woman who was treated for minor injuries at the scene of a collision at Lasalle Boulevard and Somers Street. There is no word as to the cause of the crash.
 

20 minutes in, $1000 worth of items out

Police are reviewing tape today, after thieves broke into the Voyager Inn in North Bay yesterday morning, taking a number of items. 20 minutes inside was all they needed to take more than $1,000 worth of items, causing damage. Among the items taken are some specialized art supplies, LED strip lights, pellet guns and a Toronto Blue Jays jersey.
 

Tickets slow going for Summer Festival

Timmins City council will be hear their first report of the year, regarding the communities’ biggest annual event next week, and the slow start its off to. Tickets have gone on sale for the Stars and Thunder festival. Thus far, roughly $845,000 has been brought in. At the end of January last year, roughly $2.86 million was already in hand from Ticket Sales and other sources.
 

Reminder! Shut off your water

Sault Ste Marie home owners are being reminded to shut off their outside water sources, city wide after a rash of issues. Sub Zero temperatures are causing a number of issues across the city. A number of frozen or broken water pipes have been reported in homes and beneath city streets. Colder Temperatures are expected to continue into today.
 

Science North shutting down for two weeks

For those who have plans to head to Science North sometime during the first week back to school, you’ve got the next 48 hours or so to make good on those plans. The Northern Science Hub says that as of Monday, they’re shut down for maintenance. The science centre will reopen to the public on Jan. 20.
