Animal Justice calls for “tougher laws” regarding animal on tether

With the recent cold snap, a group known as Animal Justice Sudbury wants to see tougher laws when it comes to tying up a dog outside, leaving them for long periods of time. The group says that sometimes dogs are left with un-insulated dog houses or to simply fend for themselves. While there is no law against having an animal tied up outside, the Ontario SPCA says if the dog is tethered, the chain or rope must allow the dog to move safely and access food and water.
