Buses Cancelled today… in Sudbury, North Bay. Again.

Buses were cancelled today in Sudbury, Espanola, Massey and the entire North Bay area again today, for the second straight day. This marks the 5th day off in a row for students in the effected areas, as Monday was Family Day.
 

Flood outlook issued for North Bay-Mattawa

Unseasonably high temperatures, rainfall and melting snow have prompted the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority to issue a Flood Outlook late this afternoon. Serious flooding is not expected at this time, although NBMCA staff will continue to monitor water levels.
 

Sault Ste. Marie City council backs Withdrawal Management Unit

Sault Ste. Marie City council has passed a resolution endorsing Sault Area Hospital’s request to establish a Level III Residential Withdrawal Management Service program and facility in Sault Ste. Marie. The resolution calls on the Northeastern LHIN and the Ministry of Health to approve the facility, the fourth of its kind in Ontario.
 

5 charged in high-speed accident

A number of charges have been laid following a vehicle crash in Powassan. KFM NEWS spoke to Constable Shawana Camairand who says it all began with a vehicle caught going almost 200 km/h…

Camairand says that all 5 occupants have been located, arrested and charged.

 

Mulroney makes another stop in the North

Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership candidate Caroline Mulroney made her second stop in the
North yesterday… this time, in Timmins. The Tuesday morning stop follows a visit to Sudbury earlier in the week. While the daughter of the former Prime Minister says she’s not from Northern Ontario, she promised voters, that she’s listening to Northern Ontario Leaders carefully, and resolved to govern differently than Kathleen Wynne.
