Sudbury teen missing a full week. (Update: LOCATED)

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 16-year-old, gone now… a week. Samarah Bebonang-Paibomsai was last seen on Wednesday, Feb. 21 in the downtown core of the city. Samarah is described as being 5-5 tall, weighing around 130 lbs. with long, black hair and brown eyes. She has a beauty mark on the left-side of her nose.
 

Plane winds up on roof

It was a crash landing that turned the plane onto its roof. The pilot – amazing uninjured after a small plane flipped while attempting to land at Tobermory airport Monday evening. Reports say that the Cessna 172 Seahawk was attempting to land but due to the amount of snow on the runway the wheels became caught and the plane flipped. Further information is not available.
 

Move now 30k over budget

A move of historic proportions, is now costing more than anticipated. The relocation of the birth home of the Dionne quintuplets to the downtown cost the city about $30,000 more than anticipated. This is according to a staff report presented to council this week. The total cost of the move, including the construction of a foundation, installation of a vapour-extraction system and electrical service came in at just over $180,000
 

Hydro outage in Timmins yesterday

As the lights went out in Timmins yesterday, truck ladders went up… attempting to repair several hydro wires and replace a snapped a wooden hydro pole on MacLean Drive. The power outage took out a wide area of the North End, Melrose and even parts of the downtown area. The outage effected roughly 600 people, and the driver is expected to face charges.
 

Two wanted, in unrelated incidents


Crime Stoppers in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are looking for a man thought to be in the city, wanted on charges of breach. Jordan Matthew Wagner (LEFT) is 26.
Also, a man who allegedly committed a break and enter… leaving with $5,000 worth of tools from a business on Notre Dame Avenue in Sudbury, has been identified, and is being sought by Police. Andre Martel (RIGHT) is 34, 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
 

Kate Pace Way options uncovered

The city of North Bay says they’re considering three potential routes to extend the Kate Pace Way from Memorial Drive to Gormanville Road. The three options were laid out at city hall during an open house this week, as part of an ongoing environmental assessment and design process.
The city has been granted an Ontario Municipal Cycling Infrastructure Program grant of $325,000 for the design and construction of the extension. North Bay will also kick in a share of $400,000 toward the project.
Option #1 – A route alongside the railway line that follows the Lake Nipissing shoreline
Option #2 – Memorial Drive and Main Street via bike lanes
Option #3 – The pathway that runs between Marathon Beach and Harbourside Condominiums to connect to Timmins and Gorman streets.
