Unattended cooking is being blamed for a fire in North Bay. It happened just after 5:00pm yesterday, when fire crews were alerted to a structure fire at 113 Manitou Street. The tenant explained that he had placed a pot of oil on the stove to heat to cook some French fries. He then went upstairs to take and forgot he had turned on the stove. While the damage was extensive, fire crews were very quickly able to enter the town home and suppressed the fire.
