A major Rail line between Sudbury and Sault will close. Genesee & Wyoming Canada Inc. said today that, due to lack of government support, the Northern Ontario short line that ran the 283 km from Sault Ste. Marie to Sudbury is coming to a full stop. Originally, under a 1997 lease agreement with Canadian Pacific Railway the rail line worked with major employers in the region, which together ship about 13,000 annual carloads of freight.
