Missing teen could be in Greater Sudbury

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing teen. They say 18-year-old Nicholas Forbes was last seen on Pine Street 16 days ago. He is described as an 18-year-old Caucasian male who is 6’3” tall with a thin build, brown hair and hazel/ blue eyes and was unshaven. He was wearing a black baseball cap and may have had a black Roots packsack. It is possible he could be in Greater Sudbury.
 

No fires “out of control” – MNRF

It marks a breath of fresh air for Many in the Province on Ontario today. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is reporting that out of 42 actives fires in Northeastern Ontario, not a one is out of control. This is a first for the Province since July. One new fire five kilometers northwest of Capreol has been listed as under control at 0.2 hectare.
 

City says they’re hiring a consultant for Cassells Project

The city of North Bay says they’re hiring a consultant to oversee much of the planned reconstruction of Cassells Street. Council approved the awarding of a contract this week worth $387,400. A recent report says that due to the size and complexity of the project, the engineering department decided to retain the services of an engineering consultant.
 

Sault Ste. Marie not ruling out marketing help

Sault Ste. Marie City council say while the management of GFL Memorial Garden will stay with the city over a private management company, but it’s not ruling out the option of getting professional marketing help. While the newly named premier entertainment, facility is budgeted annually to lose money, in some cases in the hundred’s of thousands.
 

Chickens in Greater Sudbury?

Sudbury City staff could soon hear a report on the implications of allowing residents across the city to raise chickens, in their backyards. Once city councillor says that Guelph and Kitchener allow the practice and it’s doable for Sudbury. There are a number of details to iron out, including how it will affect bylaw services.

Meanwhile, Greater Sudbury Police say they’re looking for a woman wanted on charges of breech. While specifics are not available, Tiffany-Ann Solomon is facing two charges. She is known to be in Greater Sudbury.
