An iconic structure in the North is coming down. Vale says that the Superstack will be up until 2020, at which point the iconic structure will be slowly taken apart. Vale told reporters this week that with the recent pushes by the company to reduce emissions, the stack has simply outlived its usefulness. The is 380-metre high stack and was built in 1970.
