Reactions continue to come in following Provincial Budget

Municipalities continue to react to the first PC budget out of Queen’s Park in 15 years. Finance minister Vic Fedeli says, even though millions are being cut from Provincial Ministries, no frontline jobs will be lost. We got North Bay Mayor Al MacDonald’s take on the budget and he says for the cities asks, by and large, are being met.

While funding will increase in the health care system to the tune of 1.3 billion dollars this year, and Education in the amount of 700 million, both are expected to plateau after that.

In addition, today, Ontarians got their first look at what will be the new Ontario Licence plate. The plate will feature a dark blue background, white lettering, and a new slogan “A place to grow”. The slogan will replace the moto “Yours to discover” which has been in place for 37 years. There will be no cost to taxpayers to make the switch.
