City council considering dept load to finish road work

City council is considering a financial debt to finish the rehabilitation of Lorne Street. After agreeing to borrow $34 million in 2018 to complete the four laning of MR35, roughly $9.6 million has already been set aside for the next phase of the work, running from Power Street to Logan Street.
Details: Infrastructure GM Tony Cecutti says they could be shovel ready (in 2020) to do the next stage. Others would like to see the project come to light, rather than waiting five or 10 years for funding. Cecutti said all the details are not finalized, but completing the work – from Elm Street to Power Street — will cost between $35 million and $40 million.
