Three new fires were discovered late yesterday, as forest fire season continues into the second half of August. Among them, two are in Chapleau, while one is in the Timmins area, is not yet under control at 0.2 of a hectare southwest of the city near Gogama.
It is located southwest of Pebonishewi Lake.
Chapleau, 9 is not yet under control at 0.1 of a hectare. It is located southeast of Ridout Lake. Chapleau 10 is not yet under control at 0.3 of a hectare. It is located on a small island of Kashbogama Lake.
At the time of this update, there are five other active wildland fires in the region.
