Low water levels at Wasi Lake blamed on beaver

Low water levels at Wasi Lake has been blamed on a beaver. While community leaders in Chisholm Township say the Beaver dam was removed last fall, it looks as though the beaver may have returned to begin the work again.
 

Missing woman: 46-year-old Gebella Goodwin (Update: Found)

 
The Timmins Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a female person. They’re looking to check on the wellbeing of Gebella Goodwin, 46, who commonly resides in Kashechewan first nation. She is described as: an Indigenous female person with a slim build, 5’6 tall, weighing 120 lbs. She has long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a camouflage hoodie, blue jeans, and black shoes.
 

5-new fires in the  North East, two are in Greater Sudbury region

There were five new forest fires confirmed by late afternoon on June 22. Four of them are in the Sudbury region. Among them Sudbury 25 and Sudbury 26 are in close proximity to one another at 0.2 and 0.3. They are approximately 4 km east of Garson-Coniston road.
 

Creative Learning in North Bay sold

In North Bay, Creative Learning has been sold. As of July 31, it will be under new ownership. The Previous owner’s Des and Gale Anthony have decided to retire after 30 years of running the store.
 

10-laptops donated to students for school completion

Ten students in the Sudbury and Algoma Districts can benefit from a donation of laptops in the district. They’re courtesy of Hydro One. The company distributed 100 laptops to interested school boards through the Ministry of Education. The laptops are being distributed in time for students to finish up the school year online.
