Police cracking down on two businesses

Sudbury police say they’ve cracking down on two businesses after not complying with the province’s pandemic regulations. It happened yesterday. Officers charged the owner a business on Cedar Street and Notre Dame Avenue.
 

New cases of COVID-19 announced in the North East

Among new case counts of COVID-19 yesterday into today, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit announced one new case of COVID-19. The person between the ages of 40-59 is from the Parry Sound District who was exposed through close contact with a case.
 
Another rise in COVID-19 cases is being Timiskaming Health Unit area. Yesterday into today, four new positive tests are being reported in the northern part of the district, which is the Kirkland Lake area. The cases are under investigation and the individuals are self-isolating.
 
Meanwhile a second inmate at Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is isolated from other inmates and is receiving medical care.
 

Sault Ste Marie Police respond to a fatal collision

Sault Ste Marie Police responded to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision yesterday. It took place near the intersection of Hughes Street and Albert Street East. Few details have been released. Traffic was diverted for some time as officers conduct their investigation.
 

LPAT dismisses all appeals over the KED

The Local Planning Appeals Tribunal has dismissed all appeals of the Kingsway Entertainment District. It happened yesterday in a 61-page decision. This is more than two years after the city approved the KED project.
 

24-hour-options now open for North Bay’s most vulnerable

A 24-hour-per day option is now open for North Bay’s vulnerable population. The facility at 590 Chippewa Street is now open. Services are provided through the Nipissing Mental health Housing and Supports Services. Weekend programs are provided by the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre.
 

Angus Reid poll showed mixed reactions to COVID-19 vaccine

An Angus Reid poll suggests that a majority of Canadians may not be lining up to get a Covid Vaccination any tine soon. Just over 1500 adult Canadians were asked about their willingness to get the vaccine. 54% said they would wait a while before getting it, were unsure about getting it, or completely refuse to get it with only 46% of Canadians are willing to get the shot right away.
