Province of Ontario is discussing new measures regarding COVID-19

Premier Doug Ford says the province is discussing as to whether more stringent lockdown measures are necessary, as lockdown measures are set to expire in some parts of the Province at the end of the week. Ford held his first news conference in more than two weeks today and says a discussion is ongoing.

This is all amid concerns about how quickly a COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Ontario announced 3,266 cases of COVID-19 today.
Among those cases of COVID-19 cases today, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is reporting nine new cases of the Corona Virus this afternoon.  Public Health Sudbury and Districts is announcing 10 new cases of COVID-19.  Two new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Timmins.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 testing of nearly all the 240-plus residents at Extendicare Maple View residents are complete. The verdict, they’ve come back negative after Algoma Public Health recently declared an outbreak at the nursing home late last year. This is after two employees tested positive for on Dec. 31st.
