Northern Ontario to remain in lock-down for two weeks, students head back to school Monday

The shutdown in Northern Ontario has been extended for at least another 14 days. The lockdown means all current safety measures currently in place for businesses, social gatherings, and public events will remain in place until at least the 21st.
Elementary students and secondary students in NORTHERN Ontario will return to in-person learning on Monday, January 11th. It has been extended to Jan. 25 for students in SOUTHERN Ontario.
Among record Covid-19 case numbers today in the Province, 14-new cases of the Corona Virus were announced by Public Health, Sudbury, and Districts. Two cases have been confirmed by the North Bay Parry Sound district health units.
The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting 5-new cases of COVID-9. One is at the Extendicare in Kapuskasing. To that end, an outbreak declaration has been made.
Elsewhere, three people are facing charges for getting together for a social gathering. It happened at a Beverly Street residence in North Bay. All three men were issued fines of $880 each.
