COVID-19 cases in Ontario take a jump

Ontario has recorded a single-day jump in the number of new COVID-19 cases. 1,745 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded today, up from 1,553 cases recorded yesterday.
Among new cases of COVID-19 today, Public Health Sudbury and Districts is reporting 30 new cases of COVID-19. Among them 23 have tested positive for a variant of concern.
Meanwhile, while Greater Sudbury schools are closed, but reports of COVID-19 cases continue to come in. Public Health Sudbury has now declared an outbreak at Confederation Secondary School in Val Caron. This is after a fourth person in that school community tested positive for COVID-19.
Elsewhere, the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is reporting six new cases of COVID-19.  Five of the cases are in the Nipissing District.  One case involves travel, three are due to close contact and the other two are still under investigation.
