Here’s some stories to start your day for Tuesday, September 21

Northern Ontario MP’s re-elected to their party seats

A single phrase sums up the federal election: “Deja-Vu”   The results of last night’s election were a mirror image of the general election of 2019 with the Liberals once again forming a minority government. The same applies to the outcome here in Northern Ontario where all the incumbents were re-elected. This election affirmed that most Canadians are steadfast in their support for a particular party, and little will sway them from that resolve.
Here in the North East, Liberal MP Marc Serré won his third election to hold onto Nickel Belt while Liberal Viviane Lapointe won in Sudbury.  In Nipissing Temiskaming Liberal Anthony Rota was re-elected, as was Timmins James Bay NDP MP Charlie Angus. NPB MP Carol Hughes got the nod from her Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing constituents while in Sault Ste Marie, still too close to call as Liberal MP Terry Sheehan is currently ahead of Conservative Candidate Sonny Spina, as of news time, by 41 votes. Mail-in ballots have yet to be counted.
