Nursing home build comes up short

The original budget for Mattawa’s Algonquin Nursing Home is evidently coming up $4 million dollars short. The $13.5 million budget is now dealing with it’s lowest tender which has come in at $17.5 million. While Mattawa council remains committed to the home, reports say there is now some creative work to do in relation managing costs. The long-term care home is slated to be completed by late summer of 2018.
