Freezing Rain Warning in the North

A total ice accumulation of just a few millimeters are possible with a freezing rain warning, as many wrap up the work week. This with the weather system that’s moving east into Quebec heading through Sudbury and North Bay. Environment Canada has upgraded the special weather statement, into a freezing rain warning.
 

Pot hole season begins

Turning from the sky to street…. the mild and cold conditions are launching another nasty start to the annual pothole season. The city of North Bay has spoken up saying that they’ve already begun work in a number of residential areas. The city says anything this early… is only a temporary fix used until hot asphalt plants open in mid-May.
 

No buses today, in North Bay

School Buses are Cancelled again today, giving North Bay area children 1 day of school this week. Buses were called off just before 6:00am today and effect the entire North Bay area, which includes Mattawa, and Sundridge. Schools remain open.
 

Handy-Transit expands routes and prices

Handy-Transit service in Timmins will be provided to a wider area of Timmins, but also at a higher cost. In view of the fact that taxi companies in the city have not provided any accessible taxicabs, the city has decided to offer a pay-as-you-go Handy-Transit service to remote and rural areas of the city, with fares running as high as $30.
 

Male taken into custody following altercation

A Scary moment ended without incident this week in Sault Ste. Marie after one man walked into a business in the 700 block of Pine Street… demanded cash. And if was there non compliance, according to Constable Sonny Spina, the man threatened dire consequences.

The 30-year-old man is facing a number of charges, including robbery and breach.
 

Stunt driving opens up a wealth of charges

A pair of women from Southern Ontario were hit with weapon and drug charges. This is following a traffic stop in Greater Sudbury on Highway 69 in Dill Township for Stunt driving. Constable Andre Taschereau Spoke to KFM with details.

The two are also facing charges related to stunt driving… they will be in court next month.
