Sudbury speeder pulled over… after passing a Cop.

A Greater Sudbury speeder was easy to catch this week, on account that at the time of the alleged incident, he passed a marked cruiser. Sudbury OPP say that after witnessing a motorist following too close and traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 17 in the Municipality of Markstay-Warren, he unsafely passing multiple vehicles on Highway 17, including a police cruiser.
 

Seniors housing coming to Bonfield

Senior’s housing in Bonfield brought dozens of people this week… out for an information session. Residents were introduced to the developer’s $4 million-dollar vision for rental units, and in turn were able to offer feedback. The goal is to have the project started this spring and completed this fall.
 

Sections of Terry Fox Trail closed in Timmins

To those who enjoy getting out with two feet an heart beat, on Timmins Trails, the city says that a portion of the Terry Fox Trail is closed until Thursday so that several large, dead trees can be safely removed. The closure happens between Mountjoy Street South and Birch Street South.
 

Water main break in Sault Ste. Maire’s Queen Street East

Water interruption is continuing to affect a number of Sault Ste. Marie Residents. This is following a water main break on Queen Street East. There are no published details as to when the water will be turned back on for some and running normally for others.
 

Missing: Philip Paishk, 41

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 41-year old, Philip Paishk. He was last seen on Thursday, March 1, in the area of Ryan Heights in Greater Sudbury. Philip is described as being 5-6 tall, weighing around 112 lbs. with a slim build. He has long, straight, black hair, a scruffy beard and brown eyes. Philip was last seen wearing a black and red ski jacket and blue jeans.
 

Female taken into custody following dispute, assault

Sault Ste. Marie Police have taken a female into custody following an argument turned violent. Constable Sonny Spina told us…

The female was located and taken into custody.
