The North Bay Police are looking for the public’s assistance in missing 15-year-old male. Josh Doucette is described as a Caucasian male, 5’5, thin build and short dark hair. No clothing descriptors are available. Josh was last seen Friday 25 May 2018 in the central area of North Bay.
 

Verdict on appeals slated for this month

Those who have filled appeals to the Kingsway Entertainment District will know later this month, whether their efforts have enough merit to proceed to an actual hearing. A spokesperson for the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal, says this week that once they have received all appeals, they have 30 days to process them. They say the first meeting will likely take the process well into the October municipal election campaign.
 

e-bike driver charged for impaired driving

An Elliot Lake Woman has been hauled off the road for impaired driving. The 50 year old was in the Mississauga Avenue and Hillside Drive South in Elliot Lake when they were observed an e-bike being allegedly driving in an erratic manner. It had no lights and failed to stop at the intersection. When Police stopped the driver, she pulled to the side of the roadway and then fell over. Following an investigation, she was subsequently arrested and charged.
 

Strides for Change is this weekend

Timmins Residents are being encouraged to Lace up your sneakers this weekend, rain or shine… for a good cause. MADD Canada says the local chapter is holding the annual Strides for Change, a five-kilometre walk/run, at the Gilles Lake Conservation Area. All of the money raised stays in the community so support victims/survivors, raise awareness and stop impaired driving.
 

U.S. tariffs called “A terrible economic policy”

Effective today, Canadian steel transported over the U.S border will face a 25 per cent tariff and aluminum will face a 10 per cent tariff. Something that Sault Ste. Marie mayor Christian Provenzano has condemned say that the “The tariff on Canadian steel is “terrible economic policy” and it will have a detrimental impact on both Canada and the U.S.
 

Driver charged after train axle falls off truck

A 45-year old driver in North Bay has been charged, following a somewhat unusual scene on the Highway 11 at the bypass near Fisher Street this week. OPP say that a rail car axle that fell off a flatbed truck. The axle was part of the transport’s load. The driver has been charged $390 for having an insecure load.
