Timmins city council meets this week, and on the agenda is an update for the proposed aquatic centre. The Facility, should it go ahead is slated to have an eight-lane competition pool, leisure pool and a family-friendly play zone. The estimated price tag for the facility that would be built on the Archie Dillon Sportsplex site is $48 million.
Mayor Steve Black says that facility won’t go ahead without funding from upper levels of Government.
