A mining operation, working in part out of Greater Sudbury, is facing significant fines following an accident. FNX Mining has been handed a $70,000 fine in connection with an incident that took place back in January of 2017 when a worker their Onaping area copper mine was seriously injured while riding in the bucket of a scooptram, something that a review says should not have taken place. A report says that he and another worker were trying to repair ventilation tubing that had been damaged, on the direction of their supervisor.
