Fog advisory in the North

Some of the North is waking up under a blanket of fog. This is according to environment Canada that says near zero visibility is greeting many on their way out the door in Sudbury and North Bay. They say that motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination and that the dense fog will slowly lift later throughout the morning.
 

Missing teen: 15-year-old Dailynn Mishibinijima-Clark

A missing teen is being sought. Dailynn (Mishibinijima) Clark, was last seen by family at 2:30 p.m. Sunday on Blake Street in Little Current. She is 15-years-old, described as about 5-foot-7, with a medium build and brown, buzz-cut hair. She was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and may be riding a purple and silver bike. Anyone who has seen Dailynn is asked to call police.
 

New service station slated for Powassan

A big boost could be coming to a small town. Powassan is planning for a new service station, convenience store, fast food restaurant and motel. The property, located at the Highway 534 and Fairview intersection, is currently being rezoned and will go through the third and final reading on Oct. 16. Mayor Peter McIsaac calls it a significant investment, well into the millions. If approved, it will be going to designers and contractors next year.
 

Farmers Market could have a new home

A farmer’s market could have a new home. That is if the Mountjoy Farmers’ Market in Timmins… could be operating at a new location and under a new facility next summer. A proposal is being put forward by the agricultural society for a 40-by-100 foot pavilion, constructed from wood and a tin roof. The hopes is that the $120,000 building, if approved would be paid for by the society though fundraising efforts, requests for donated building materials and government grants.
 

Cambrian College seeing a boost in enrollment

A Northern Ontario College is enjoying a boost in enrollment. This is after roughly 1,000 international students have enrolled at Cambrian College this fall. The school released enrollment figures this week and say roughly 4,831 full- and part-time students are registered for classes this fall, an increase of just under six per cent compared to last year.
 

Police seeing Robbery Suspect

Police are seeking a robbery suspect. This is after a male walked into a convenience store in the 600 block of Second Line West in Sault Ste. Mare and demanded cash. After threatening to assault the clerk, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and left. He is described as 6-foot-tall with a heavy build and red marks on the left side of his face.
