To Ottawa now, Canada’s New Democrats say they’re pushing for accountability from the Trudeau government ahead of Remembrance Day. Timmins MP Charlie Angus says that a greater commitment needs go forward, after the services are over. Angus says that it is a common practice for the federal government to announce and re-announce spending commitments to veterans, but the money isn’t spent in the calendar year, it is often recycled back to government coffers.
