Ice breaking underway near SSM Michigan

Icebreaking efforts are underway in Lake Superior. The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Sault Ste. Marie started the Operation in the St. Mary’s River and western sections of the waterway this week. It’s all over an expanded ice growth” in the area. The Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., close today.
