Smoke caused by power outage at Algoma Steel

More is being learned about the black smoke coming from Algoma Steel over the weekend. It happened just after 9:30 a.m. Saturday and took place due to a temporary total loss of power to the steelworks, which resulted in a loss of steam to the operation.  Thankfully there were no injuries and power was fully restored roughly an hour later.
Details: Power was fully restored by 10:45 a.m. and the steam supply followed several hours thereafter. An investigation is underway to determine the root cause and corrective measures.
