It remains all-hands-on-deck this afternoon in Mattawa after the town declared a state of emergency. This is all due to flooding from the Ottawa River, and a necessary release from the Otto Holden Dam. Mattawa Mayor Dean Backer spoke to us and says as the crisis continues, crews work around the clock.
Meanwhile, flood warnings will remain in place for residents in the Ottawa River area until Monday. Everywhere from Temiskaming Shores south to Papineau-Cameron Township are affected. The ministry is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions.
