Right to the numbers… in North Eastern Ontario
The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting four new COVID-19 cases among residents. This brings the number of positive cases to 54 in the local health unit area.
Public Health Sudbury & Districts are reporting the 47th case of COVID-19. The latest case is a woman in her 20s who was exposed by close contact with another case.
More across the Algoma district are being tested for COVID-19. APH says as of yesterday nearly 1,500 people had been tested with nearly 1,100 negative results. A further 403 cases remain pending.
To the numbers, there are 141 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in northeastern Ontario. At least 97 resolved cases in the region, which is about 69 per cent of the total cases.
Previously on a ventilator, man is discharged
Health Sciences North celebrated the discharge of its first COVID-19 patient who had been ventilated. Staff lined up and clapped as the man waved, smiled, and profusely thanked the frontline health-care staff for the care they provided.

North Bay Airport approved for a monthly subsidy

Rumble in the middle of the night wakes residents

ONTC decreasing routes on April 26th
Ontario Northland is starting to decrease routes. As of April 26, the frequency of trips to Toronto, Ottawa, North Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Timmins will all be impacted.
