1-new case of COVID-19 in  Northern Eastern Ontario

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is reporting a new COVID-19 case. The details have not been released. Through contact tracing, Public Health is notifying all close contacts directly.
 

Missing male: 31-year-old Trevor Mills

Sault Ste. Marie Police Services is asking the public to help locate a missing Sault Ste. Marie man. Trevor Mills, aged 31, was last seen yesterday at 7 a.m., driving light blue Jeep and police are concerned for his well-being. He is described as being about 5′ 9″ inches tall, 200 pounds with short dark hair.
 

Cochrane Town office open – don’t  forget your mask

The Town of Cochrane says their municipal office has reopened. They are continuing to take the necessary steps to protect the health and safety of our residents and staff and asking all members of the public who enter or remain in an enclosed public space to wear a mask or face covering.

For those in Timmins, visiting the police station… will come with the need to wear a mask. Constable Marc Depatie says there will be one exception…

OPP remind boaters – put ON the life jacket

Two boaters were rescued in a joint effort by a local resident and the North Bay OPP. While the details have not been released, Police say their boat was inundated by water causing the lifejackets to float away. OPP are reminding boaters, of the importance of putting on life jackets when on board.
 

YMCA reopens in September

The YMCA of Northeastern Ontario says they will likely reopen in September. While the Stage 3 announcement was given July 13, the facilities in Sudbury and North Bay will remain closed until the fall as they continue to work through health and safety measures.
 

Strong Township man facing numerous charges

A Strong Twp man now has an arm’s length of charges after being caught driving without plates. The vehicle was stopped on Park Road South and the 31-year-old driver was arrested. He also allegedly had no insurance and was in possession of an illegal substance.
