Testing site nearing completion in Greater Sudbury
As the demand for COVID-19 tests remain steady in Greater Sudbury Health Sciences North is looking at opening a new testing site. It will be at the Walford Road assessment centre. HSN says they’re finalizing the new location which will including a drive-through option.
3-new cases of COVID-19 announced by North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit
The North Bay Health Unite is reporting three new cases of COVID-19. The three latest cases were all through community spread, two in Parry Sound and one in North Bay. Two were under the age of 19; The other is between 20-39. All three are self-isolating. Of the five existing cases, three are in Parry Sound and two are in North Bay.
Fire fighters are investigating mid-day fire
North Bay firefighters are investigating fire Wednesday afternoon. It damaged two homes on Milani Road. North Bay Fire and Emergency Services responded to the structure fire at approximately 1:50 p.m. Firefighters responded in less than two minutes and were able to get the fire under control within 30 seconds to a minute. The cause is still undetermined.
Driver charged following single motor vehicle collision
A driver is facing charges after hitting a pole and ditched his truck after passing another vehicle. It happened on Highway 144 at Marina Road in Onaping Falls. The driver and lone occupant suffered minor injuries. He will be in court Dec 9th. Police are reminding the public of the dangers of driving impaired.
“No home-made masks, thank you” says SAH
Starting today, visitors to Sault Area Hospital will be able to come in wearing homemade masks. The hospital has posted on social media (posted on their Facebook page) that all members of the public will be required to wear a surgical/procedural mask supplied by the hospital. Screening is also in place.
ASH could be moving Grade 7,8 students to Highschool
The Algoma District School Board is looking at moving their Grade 7 and 8 students to Elliot Lake Secondary School. The proposed move would start September 2021. They would take up with wing currently being used for adult education. A decision is expected Nov 24th.

The Sudbury Trail Plan Association is looking at an increase in trail riders this year. So far sales are up 13 percent compared to last year. Additional health information provided to permit-holders. People will be encouraged to stay within their districts and will be able to access information on where it is safe to travel on the Sudbury Trail Plan website.
