HSN assessment center moving away from the Hospital

HSN has put out a release indicating their COVID-19 Assessment Centre is moving from the Health Sciences North Research their new location is in the south end of Sudbury at 2050 Regent Street. Patients booked for testing appointments will begin going to the new site to be tested tomorrow.
 

Three vehicle collision claims two in Greater Sudbury

Two people died following a three-vehicle collision. It happened on Elm Street just past Big Nickel Mine Road in Greater Sudbury. A 40-year-old woman was pronounced deceased while a 55-year-old man was transported to HSN where he was later pronounced deceased. A 42-year-old man who was driving the third vehicle involved in the collision sustained non-life-threatening injuries. There is no word as to the cause of the crash.
 

Two new cases of COVID-19 reported in Nipissing

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 in Nipissing District. The latest cases involve one person between 20 and 39 years of age and another individual between 40 and 59 years of age. Both are isolating and were exposed to COVID-19 through close contact with another case.
 

New COVID-19 warning put out for those on Polar Bear Express

A new COVID-19 exposure warning has been put out to those that may have travelled on an Ontario Northland train. The Porcupine Health Unit says it has to do with the 5 p.m. Polar Bear Express train from Moosonee to Cochrane on Friday, Nov. 13. The advisory says people who were in coach two, rows five to nine are advised to self-isolate immediately. Other passengers in coach two are being asked to self-monitor until next Friday.
 

Sally Ann looking for kettle holders

The Salvation Army, is once again looking for kettle holders. The faith-based campaign is says there are needs not only in Greater Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins and Sault Ste Marie… but across that nation. Those who can man a kettle for an hour or two are asked to reach out to their local chapter.
 

Woman busted for theft following alleged jewelry heist

A Sault Ste Marie Woman will have her day in court, following a theft. This is after the 39-year-old allegedly attended a business in the 200 block of Bay Street and selected jewelry worth over $1,100 from a display case, and refusing to put it down, left the store. She was located and arrested.
