Ontario heading into another lockdown

The Province of Ontario is heading into another lockdown. The Premier made the announcement yesterday.  This is as health officials say new COVID-19 cases are on the rise, and tougher restrictions are needed to protect Ontario’s Hospitals and save lives.  Doug Ford told Ontarians it will all begin on December 26th at 12:01am.   It will last 14-days for Northern Ontario, and 28-days for Southern Ontario.

4-new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed in the Kirkland Lake area

Four new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed by the Timiskaming Health Unit. The people are in the northern part of the district, which is the Kirkland Lake area.
 

Greater Sudbury Police looking for  31-year-old, Andrew Martin.

Greater Sudbury Police are seeking the assistance of the public to locate a missing 31-year-old. Andrew Martin was last seen early in the morning on Dec. 7 on Bruce Avenue in the Cambrian Heights neighborhood. He is described as 5’7, 190lbs. with brown eyes, shaved head and a thick goatee. He was last seen wearing black sweat pants and red shoes.
 

Thunder Bay will be the first in Northern Ontario to receive

Thunder Bay has received a shipment of COVID-19 vaccine. The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has announced they will mark the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine in Northwestern Ontario. After pilot projects in Toronto and Ottawa, TBRHSC and 16 other sites around Ontario would receive shipments of the vaccine within a period of two weeks. Thunder Bay was the only Northern Ontario city on the list.
 

Stay off the Ice – North Bay Fire and Emergency Services

North Bay Fire and Emergency Service is asking residents to stay off the ice. In short they say even though the ice on area waterways looks safe, ice thickness has not developed to a point where residents should be out on area lakes.
 

Sudbury city council votes to open one of two locations to aid service of those in need

Sudbury city council has given the go ahead to open either the Sudbury Community Arena or board rooms at 199 Larch St. in order to seat those in need, so that they can eat a meal as provided by an area soup kitchen. This is until another facility can open in January.
