Sault Ste Marie city vehicles looking to “Go green” in 2022

The city of Sault Ste Marie is looking to budget for what are being called ‘green’ vehicles for 2022. The goal is to reduce the city’s carbon footprint. They would take the form of both battery electric vehicles for any new light-class unit vehicles that are acquired for the city fleet on a go-forward basis. It’s estimated that roughly 50 per cent of the Corporation of the City of Sault Ste. Marie’s greenhouse gas emissions come from fleet and equipment.
