Automated speed enforcement coming to Greater Sudbury, eventually

Those with a led foot in the Nickle City are being told to slow down. The City of Greater Sudbury says they could be adding a new tactic to deal with speeding.  At this week’s meeting of the operations committee, members voted unanimously in favour of proceeding with the next steps in the implementation of automated speed enforcement to take effect in 2023. Automated speed enforcement uses a camera and a speed measurement device to detect and capture images of vehicles travelling in excess of the posted speed limit.
