Greater Sudbury City council is expressing early support for a new film studio, Freshwater Production Studios, a non-profit organization from Cultural Industries Ontario North, that has requested $7 million in municipal support.

Near North District School Board trustees have voted down the idea of singing the national anthem before meetings. This was following a motion put forward by one of the board trustees.

The Ontario government has announced it’s spending $139.5 million to buy three new trainsets as part of its plan to bring back the northeastern passenger rail service between Timmins and Toronto. The target date is 2026.

Timmins Police is reminding truckers to keep to truck route restrictions. Among the restrictions is using the curb lane only unless they make a turn.
