The GSU in Greater Sudbury is advising residents, if they haven’t already, to prepare for outages. This is as the huge winter storm that’s expected to last through Saturday has already closed some businesses for the day, and cancelled some flights in the Province.

Nipissing University campus closed Friday due to the inclement weather forecast. They will reopen Tuesday.

It Timmins, holiday skates are starting up again, with free public skating at the Whitney Arena sponsored by Canadian Tire Saturday at 10:00 am. The McIntyre Arena has the same program… only at 12 pm

Piece of Mackinac Bridge has found a new home at the South Pole, of all places… to serve as a mile marker thanks to a US-based initiative.

A water main break in Elliot Lake is still under repair. It happened yesterday in the area of 120 Dieppe Avenue.

The City of Greater Sudbury has been allocated 219 childcare spaces as part of the provincial plan to bring in $10-a-day child care by September 2025.
