The Major winter storm expected hit most of Northeastern Ontario, will now skip a good amount of the Highway 17, and instead climb north into areas including Timmins. Environment Canada says in Timmins and surrounding areas, Snow could heavy at times, with total snowfall amounts of 30 to 50 cm.

North Bay city staff are now reviewing the details of the tender submissions on the Main Street Rebuild to ensure they meet the specified criteria.   This is after all bids to do the work came in higher then estimated.

The start of shipping season is now within view. The Soo Locks Poe Lock is opening for the 2023 shipping season on March 25.

Barrydowne Road in Greater Sudbury has reopened after a train and vehicle collided near Lasalle Boulevard yesterday. Two people were treated with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident is under investigation.

Meanwhile, EMS responded to a collision in the 1300 block of Algonquin Avenue yesterday afternoon in North Bay. This is after an unoccupied vehicle struck a hydro pole and a city bus. No injuries were reported.

Living Space in Timmins is getting a needed gift of over 600 brand-new pairs of undergarments for those in need. This is all thanks to efforts from student Collège Boréal.

In Sault Ste Marie, Reduced load restrictions of 5 tonnes per axle will take effect this weekend on many city streets. All streets that are exempt from the restrictions can be found online.

Starting in 2024, Ontario students entering Grade 9 must complete a technical education credit in order to get their high school diploma.
