A missing 37-year-old Sudbury woman who was the subject of an extensive nearly 18-hour search, on May 24 has been located in good health.

North Bay police confirm that a small plane crashed this afternoon at the Jack Garland Airport. One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Two people were aboard. The crash remains under investigation.

Fire bans in effect for Desbarats, Bruce Mines, Iron Bridge. Current conditions are said to be very dry.

More than $930,000 in federal funding is coming to support people at risk of opioid-related harms in the Sudbury area. An announcement was made at the Sudbury Go-Give Project office at 280 Larch Street.

North Bay City Council has supported two motions that will see an all-way stop put up at Massey Drive and Blair Street, as well as, Mountainview Drive and Wickstead Avenue.

Physician shortages continue to cause delays and cancellations at the emergency department at North Shore Health Network’s Thessalon site. The network announced this week they will shutter the ER from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 8 a.m. Thursday.

The fire hazard is high to extreme across the Northeast Region, according to Ontario’s Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services. The forecast up until Friday is for hot and dry weather.
Greater Sudbury Police are reporting a collision at Radar Road at Skead Road. Officers were on scene. Drivers were told to expect traffic delays in the area.

The city of Sault Ste. Marie has received a $200,000 grant to “explore deep energy retrofitting” at six municipal buildings.
